Lee County Sheriff arrested for alleged DWI: Texas DPS

AUSTIN (KXAN) --  The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating after the Lee County Sheriff was arrested Sunday morning and charged with driving while intoxicated, according to a press release from the Lee County Sheriff's Office. 

Lee County Sheriff Garrett Durrenberger's name was signed to the press release announcing his arrest.

According to jail records, Lee County Sheriff Garrett Durrenberger, 38, was arrested following a traffic stop by Texas DPS.

He was booked into the Lee County Jail early Sunday morning and was released hours later, according to records.

As of Sunday night, attorney information for Durrenberger was not available in court records. We will update this if that changes.
