Weekend Watch: Quesoff celebrates cheese, and Cabaret at UT
AUSTIN (KXAN) — It's time to celebrate cheese while supporting our local Food Bank, plus a musical classic at UT, a final Fall Festival, an art show, a card show, and Pride in Pflugerville all happening this weekend.
Weekend Forecast
This weekend looks much more fall-like as temperatures on Saturday will stay in the upper 70s with mostly sunny skies. Sunday will rebound back into the low 80s with mostly sunny skies. Rain chances are gone now, but we will take this nice weather any day!
Cabaret
"Life is a Cabaret, old chum!" Yes, it is, and the University of Texas B. Iden Payne Theatre is turning into a Berlin nightclub in the 1920s. This offbeat, dark, and witty musical that has thrived for decades and gave Liza Minelli an Academy Award for her performance in the movie, opens this weekend. Thursday marks the preview night, with Friday, Oct.31 the opening night. The show runs through Nov. 9. The show includes hit songs "Willkommen," "Cabaret," "Don't Tell Mama," and more. Tickets are still on sale for each night, and for more information, be sure to visit their website.
Driftwood Fall Festival
Fall is in full swing, and another Fall Festival is here, this time in Driftwood. This is the final weekend to take in all the sights and sounds at this family-friendly pumpkin patch and festival located at 13551 Ranch to Market Road at Vista Brewing. There will be a ton to do, including a hay maze, hay mountain, pumpkin photo ops, farm animal experiences, petting zoo, market, and plenty of local food and drinks. Children 3 and under are admitted free, while seniors 65 and older are only $5.
Travis Heights Art Trail
With the weather perfect for some outdoor time, why not take a walk and check out some local art? Celebrating its 23rd year, the Travis Heights Art Trail is a great way to support local artists and talk to some of the creators. Running Nov. 1 and 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Travis Heights area is located between Riverside and Live Oak, along with I-35 and Congress Ave. south of the river. This entire event is run by the artists themselves. From sculptures to paintings and more, this is the best way to show our Austin artists the love for their hard work. For more information on the trail, or to even buy art at any point in the year, be sure to visit their website.
Pflugerville Pride PFestival
Pflugerville is celebrating Pride in the only way it can, in full color. While Pflugerville has been celebrating Pride all month long with different events, this is their 4th Annual Pfestival in Downtown Pflugerville on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 5 p.m. with a Dia de Muertos theme. There will be live performances from drag shows to DJs, musicians, and dancers. Plenty of local vendors will be on hand, a fun zone for kids, a luminary lighting ceremony to honor those who have passed, and a community ofrenda to share memories of your loved ones. The Pride Pfestival is free; however, Pride After Dark does require a ticket. For more information on the event or to buy a ticket, be sure to visit their website.
ATX Card Show
It's time to break out your Pokémon and sports cards as the ATX Card Show returns. Happening on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the focus is mostly for Pokémon and sports cards, but all cards are welcome here! There will be plenty of vendors, card grading, some raffles, and even a trading event in the lobby after the event closes. Plus, kids 5 and under are free. For more information on the event and to buy tickets, be sure to visit their website.
Quesoff 2025
