APD asks for help finding driver involved in north Austin crash
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department on Wednesday asked for the public's help in finding a driver who left the scene of a crash that resulted in the death of a man on Oct. 21.
APD described the vehicle as a light SUV or crossover, which possibly has collision damage to the lower front left side.
The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound in the 800 block of Parmer Lane, according to authorities.
Police said three vehicles were involved in the crash. The driver of the first vehicle was found dead in the roadway. APD said the driver of a second vehicle hit the first vehicle when they made a left turn in front of him. The driver of the second vehicle remained on the scene, was not impaired, and cooperated with the investigation.
Police believe another vehicle hit the man in the roadway and continued driving. Authorities are looking for the driver of that vehicle.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact APD Detective Matthew Gil at 512-974-4969. A tip can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program or by calling 512-472-8477.
