Water main break causes 'extended closure' on Riverside in southeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A water main break shut down parts of Riverside Drive in southeast Austin Monday morning.

The Austin Police Department said at 11:19 a.m. that the water main break is at Riverside and Lakeshore Boulevard.

All eastbound lanes on Riverside are closed. APD said in an update the closure was extended until 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Drivers are urged to use alternate routes and account for extra travel time.
