Kyle man arrested, connected with sex assault investigation of 2 juveniles, police say

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A 22-year-old Kyle man was arrested Thursday in connection with a sexual assault investigation that involved two juveniles, according to the Kyle Police Department.

Troy Samaro was charged with two counts of sexual assault of a minor and two counts of trafficking of a minor, according to police.

Attorney information was not available for Samaro as of Thursday. We will update this if that changes.

This comes after a two-month investigation into the cases after Samaro allegedly contacted victims via social media and allegedly misrepresented his age, according to police. He then "arranged transportation for the victims through rideshare services to bring them to his home, where the assault occurred."

“We would like to highlight the bravery displayed by the victims who came forward, and their willingness to cooperate with law enforcement,” Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett said in the release. “Our department remains committed to protecting children, preventing abuse, and holding offenders fully accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

Anyone who believes their child may have been contacted by Samaro should report it to investigators with Kyle PD at 512-268-3232. Police also urge parents "to closely monitor their children's social media and online interactions."
