Nine Chapel

Verso Penthouse is a minimalist penthouse apartment situated within the newly completed Nine Chapel building designed by SO-IL alongside developer Tankhouse. VERSO operates as more than a furniture gallery – it functions as a curatorial laboratory where the boundaries between retail, exhibition, and experiential design dissolve into something entirely new. Founded in 2022 by Amauri Aguiar and Bryan Young, this Tribeca-based enterprise has pioneered what might be called nomadic curation, establishing temporary residencies in spaces as varied as the Six Square House in the Hamptons and winter pop-ups in Aspen, with exhibitions extending to Miami and Milan.

Guilherme Wentz’s furniture does not simply inhabit space; it negotiates with it. Each piece in this collection speaks the language of “silent and natural living,” a philosophy that transforms the modernist impulse toward reduction into something more generous – a clearing rather than an emptying. The lounge chairs and sofas positioned throughout the penthouse reveal themselves as studies in restraint, their minimalist forms allowing the eye to rest while the body settles into geometries inspired by Brazil’s natural topography.

What distinguishes this work from mere tropical nostalgia is Wentz’s sophisticated engagement with contemporary material innovation. The brand’s proprietary WE-KNIT textile, woven from ocean-collected PET bottles, represents more than environmental responsibility – it embodies a new kind of luxury, one that finds beauty in transformation rather than extraction. This 3D-woven fabric possesses an almost sculptural quality, its surface catching and releasing light in ways that echo the building’s own perforated skin.

“We were born as an agile and itinerant gallery, capable of occupying both unassuming and groundbreaking real estate spaces while curating thoughtful exhibitions around them,” explains VERSO co-founder Amauri Aguiar. This nomadic sensibility aligns perfectly with Wentz’s own philosophy – furniture designed not to dominate but to adapt, to create what the brand calls “harmonious and sensorially simple environments.”
