Campbell crime report for the week of March 29

Monday, March 11

900 block Linda Drive: An unknown suspect convinced the victim to provide gift card numbers over the phone. The victim believed he was buying a vehicle.

100 block Union: The victim believes a 29-year-old man is having a third party contact her for him. The suspect is currently in custody.

500 block E. McGlincey: The victim mailed two checks in San Jose. The checks were never received by the company, but someone attempted to cash them at a check cashing location.

600 block Marathon Drive: Officers conducted follow-up on a package theft from March 4 and identified a 27-year-old as the suspect.

300 block Union Avenue: A 30-year-old was invited to the apartment by the victim in violation of a served criminal protective order. The victim decided it was time for the suspect to leave and reported the violation.

1100 block Shadydale Avenue: A 22-year-old man was sitting in a parked vehicle for hours. It was determined that he had smoked so much marijuana that he was unable to care for himself.

100 block W. Rincon Avenue: The victim alleged that a 39-year-old woman was intoxicated and attempted to run him over with her vehicle. The woman was stopped nearby and found not to be intoxicated, and she had a conflicting statement.

900 block Ravenscourt Avenue: A 40-year-old showed up at a residence in violation of a served order. The suspect fled prior to police department arrival.

South Bascom and Hamilton avenues: A 38-year-old was contacted and was found to be in possession of a syringe.

2000 block S. Winchester Boulevard: A 36-year-old man was causing a disturbance and refused to leave the business when asked. He was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself.

Kennedy and Industrial: A 39-year-old was stopped for a Campbell Vehicle Code violation and was found to be driving on a suspended driver’s license and in possession of a meth pipe. A 38-year-old passenger was in possession of methamphetamine and meth pipes.

Tuesday, March 12

800 block Sharmon Palms: A 2000 white Ford Explorer was stolen while it was warming up. One of the daytime running lights is out, and driver’s side rear passenger’s door is a different shade of white with no molding.

100 block Branbury Drive: Propane gas tanks were stolen off of a trailer.

600 block E. Campbell Avenue: A 49-year-old woman was located sleeping in the parking lot next to her vehicle.

400 block E. Hamilton: A black Specialized men’s road bike was stolen.

3600 block S. Bascom Avenue: A black and orange electric wheelchair was stolen.

800 block W. Hamilton Avenue: A 36-year-old man urinated next to fruit stands and determined to be unable to care for himself.

1300 block Hacienda Court: The victim reported that the suspect contacted her via a digital platform and made disparaging comments in violation of a peaceful contact order. The comments could not be determined to be disparaging.

70 N. First Street: A 49-year-old called 911 from the police department lobby, asking about blankets and clothing.

Wednesday, March 13

300 block E. Hamilton Avenue: Two suspects were captured on video arriving in a black 2000s Honda Civic with a gray primer hood and stealing a brown 1990 Honda Accord.

500 block E. Hamilton Avenue: Two suspects used magnetic devices to defeat security sensors and stole merchandise from the store. The first suspect fled from officers and was captured after a short foot pursuit. That suspect also had an outstanding warrant for DUI.

1800 block S Bascom Avenue: A 48-year-old man was contacted after he was causing a disturbance. The suspect was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself.

900 block S San Tomas Aquino Road: A 30-year-old man was contacted after the victim contacted her friends stating he was being abusive. The victim stated the man poured water on her after an argument. The victim claimed prior abuse but would not elaborate.

Thursday, March 14

1700 block S. Bascom Avenue: The suspect filled a prescription for codeine, and the pharmacy later found out that the prescription was forged.

800 block Cristich Lane: Two suspects were involved in this case. The first suspect knocked on the door of a business. The victim let the suspect in, thinking he was there for business. The first suspect then called the second suspect, who told the victim on speaker phone that he couldn’t hide from him, alluding to a monetary debt owed to by the victim. The first suspect then punched the victim several times and fled to an awaiting vehicle driven by another unknown suspect. The victim did not give any money to the suspect, and nothing was taken.

40 block W. Hamilton Avenue: A 38-year-old defecated in the parking lot.

Orchard City Drive and First Street: An 18-year-old man was reported to be checking door handles in the area. The suspect was contacted with a box of belongings. He was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and arrested. It was later determined that the box of belongings was taken from an unlocked vehicle nearby and the reporting party desired prosecution.

600 block of Campbell Tech Parkway: A hedge trimmer was stolen from the bed of a city truck.

500 block E. Hamilton Avenue: A 57-year-old stole clothing from the store and fled from loss prevention outside the store. Officer located the suspect on Harrison Avenue, wearing the stolen clothing. The suspect was cited.

400 block Kings Court: Someone opened a Montgomery Ward account in the victim’s name and charged over $300.

Bascom and Pruneyard: One suspect approached the victim with a possible silver knife and demanded money on the west sidewalk of S. Bascom Avenue, just south of 1800 block of S. Bascom Avenue. That suspect fled southbound and got into an awaiting tan and gold Honda Accord and fled towards Campisi. Officers spotted the vehicle westbound on Hamilton Avenue with a similarly described driver but lost the vehicle in the Hamilton and Almarida area.

2300 block S. Winchester Boulevard: The suspect, possibly the victim’s ex-girlfriend who he refused to ID, came over to the victim’s residence and keyed and smashed out the windows to his 2017 Mercedes.

2000 block of S Bascom Avenue: A 38-year-old man was contacted after he was passed out in the bathroom for three hours. He was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself. The suspect is on probation and was in violation. The suspect was also a reported missing person from February.

Friday, March 15

2000 block of White Oaks Road: A 38-year-old woman opened a cell phone account in her ex-husband’s name while he was incarcerated.

San Tomas Expressway and Winchester Boulevard: A 20-year-old was stopped. When officer walked up to the vehicle, the suspect fled from him. Officers located the vehicle after the suspect crashed into a fence. The suspect was out of vehicle already, and when an officer went to arrest him, the suspect attempted to pull away from him.

2300 block of S Winchester Boulevard: A 44-year-old woman was contacted after a disturbance and found to be too intoxicated to care for herself.

800 block of E Hamilton Avenue: A 24-year-old got into an argument with the victim while driving. The suspect pulled the vehicle into a business, and they began arguing outside of the vehicle. Multiple witnesses saw the suspect hitting the victim. The suspect choked the victim inside their vehicle, causing redness.

200 block of Union Avenue: A 24-year-old got into an argument with the victim and threw a fan at her. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

Saturday, March 16

1700 block Adrien Drive: A green 97 Honda CRV was stolen sometime overnight.

Kennedy and Railway: A 36-year-old man was stopped on his bicycle for a code violation. The suspect was found to have a concealed knife on his person. The suspect was under the influence and in possession of meth and a meth pipe.

Civic Center and Third: A 34-year-old was stopped on an electric bike and was found to be in possession of meth for sales and was under the influence.

100 block N San Tomas Aquino Road: Clothes were stolen from a dryer.

2500 block S Winchester Boulevard: A 30-year-old was contacted after a welfare check and was found to be under the influence and in possession of meth and a meth pipe.

Campbell and Union avenues: A 36-year-old was stopped for Campbell Vehicle Code and was found to be DUI.

100 block English Rose Circle: An unknown suspect slashed the tires to a vehicle.

Hamilton and Salmar: A 43-year-old was stopped for Campbell Vehicle Code violation and found to be DUI.

200 block E Campbell Avenue, Warm Elements:  Someone broke the front glass window to a business.

1000 block W Hamilton Avenue: A suspect pushed his girlfriend during an argument. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

2300 block S Winchester Boulevard: The suspect hit a ride share driver after an argument. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

1800 block S. Bascom Avenue: Someone slashed the tires on a vehicle.

Sunday, March 17

First and Orchard City: A suspect was involved in a non-injury collision and was found to be DUI. During a search incident to his arrest, he was found in possession of cocaine.

1900 block S. Bascom Avenue: A suspect was reported as harassing some females. He was located after he had left and was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself. It was later determined that one of the female victim’s life was threatened while the suspect charged at her with closed fists. The victim desired prosecution.

Creek Trail near Hwy 17: Someone set a transient encampment on fire.

Budd and Emory: A suspect was stopped for a Campbell Vehicle Code violation on his bicycle. He used false information to conceal the fact he had an outstanding warrant. Once his true identity was determined, he was arrested. He was also found in possession of a white felt tip marker that he stated was used to draw graffiti.
