Apple on Monday dumped a Santa Claus-size bag of goodies on the world. On Tuesday, the world was busy ripping open the presents.
Pivoting away from new hardware (those iPhones are SO 2018) and software (do we really need another upgrade named after a national park?), CEO Tim Cook did his best to get his global audience to repeat Apple’s new mantra: services, services, services.
From a new credit card to a new news app filled with something called ”magazines” to a new TV app that will bring us all even more original content than we could possibly watch in a lifetime, Apple was in a very giving mood, even as it took back by charging everyone more fees to enjoy it all.
Take a look at what everyone had to say about Apple’s big day: how cool its offerings were, how much they sucked, who was on the stage, and who wasn’t and why not:
Just reading tweets about today's event is very funny to me. Apple ID looking for everyway to monetize everything of theirs in an attempt to make more profit yet users are very happy to use their products. I just dunno the kinda voodoo they're using #AppleEvent
Steven Spielberg, Tim Cook, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, Captain America AND Captain Marvel. Imagine the collective net-worth. All that money in one room used as leverage to announce 4 ways they’re offering us to make them more $ #AppleEvent
Why is everyone making the "Apple Church" joke like this was not the case when Apple was launched:
– they had their own Jesus – their Paul runs things now – the Bible is their products – they have churches, known as apple stores – #AppleEvent is their yearly revival
I respect #Apple rolling out some very "classic" talent today to launch their new streaming service. I like the '90s as much as anyone. But wouldn't it have been FIRE if they trotted the #ODAAT cast on stage and said "We got 'em!" People would go nuts! @everythingloria#SaveODAAT
