Saratoga crime report for the week of April 12
Grand Theft: On Feb. 11, unknown suspects used a Saratoga resident’s bank account to make various payments for a total loss of about $1,600.
Identity Theft: March 1 and March 7, unknown suspects used a Saratoga resident’s personal information to access the victim’s credit card and mobile phone application accounts, and made fraudulent charges.
Stolen Vehicle: Between noon on March 13 and noon on March 15, unknown suspects stole a golf cart parked behind a residence at the Saratoga Retirement Community on Fruitvale Avenue. The golf cart had an approximate value of $4,100.
Residential Burglary: At 10:28 a.m. on March 18, deputies responded to an in-progress burglary call at a residence in the 18000 block of Vanderbilt Drive. An investigation revealed two suspects entered the residence by breaking a window and took a laptop. The suspects are unknown and at large.
Attempted Residential Burglary: At 4:53 p.m. on March 18, deputies responded to an alarm call at a residence in the 12000 block of Melinda Circle. An investigation revealed someone attempted to pry the front door open but did not gain entry.
Robbery, Shoplifting: At 6:10 p.m. on March 18, two suspects entered Ace Hardware in the Argonaut Shopping Center on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road and took merchandise without paying. An employee confronted one of the suspects, who threatened them with a wrench before fleeing the scene.
Open Container of Marijuana: At 10:49 p.m. on March 18, deputies stopped a motorist at Highway 9 and Pierce Road for a traffic violation. An investigation revealed the driver was in possession of an open container of marijuana. The driver was cited and released.
Shoplifting: At 8:30 PM on March 19, a suspect took about $500 of store merchandise without paying from CVS in the Argonaut Shopping Center on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. The suspect fled the scene.
Misappropriation of Found Property: At 11:09 p.m. on March 21, deputies made contact with a pedestrian in the area of Prospect Road and Lawrence Expressway. An investigation revealed the pedestrian was in possession of a debit card not belonging to her. She was cited and released.
