Cupertino community briefs for the week of April 12
CREST Award Winners
The City of Cupertino recently announce the winners of the 2019 CREST Awards. The CREST (Cupertino Recognizes Extra Steps Taken) Awards program honors those in the community who have made outstanding contributions to Cupertino through their time and effort.
This year’s winners are Steve Hill, Lifetime Achievement; Audrey Cui, Volunteer of the Year; Knights of Columbus, Organization of the Year; Fabrizio Vitagliano, Rising Star; Sidharth Rajaram, Public Safety Champion; and De Anza College Grassroots Ecology, Sustainability Champion.
The public is invited to the annual awards ceremony and reception on May 30 at 6 p.m. in Cupertino Community Hall, 10350 Torre Ave. The event is free, and heavy appetizers will be served.

Easter Egg Hunt
The City of Cupertino hosts its annual Easter Egg Hunt April 13, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Memorial Park, 10185 N. Stelling Road Besides egg hunts, the event features games and a bouncy house.
Teen Info Night
Teens can build leadership skills, get on-the-job training and find volunteer opportunities in the Cupertino community at a Teen Info Night set for April 22, 6:30 p.m. at Cupertino Community Hall, 10350 Torre Ave.
Programs discussed will include Leaders In Training, Junior Lifeguards, Cupertino Teen Leadership Academy and the Teen Commission.
Home Fire Safety
Santa Clara County Fire personnel will talk to Cupertino seniors April 23 about understanding fire risks and how to practice fire safety habits while developing a home escape plan. The presentation, set for 3:30-4:30p.m. at the senior center, will also help attendees identify fall risks.
