The CW fall lineup: ‘Batwoman,’ ‘Nancy Drew’ to the rescue
Network adds two new dramas pegged to popular franchises
The CW on Thursday concluded broadcast television’s upfront week festivities by announcing a fall schedule that features a couple of popular female heroes.
New to network’s lineup are “Batwoman” and “Nancy Drew.” The former stars Ruby Rose as the DC Comics character, and the latter is headlined by Kennedy McMann, who plays the brainy teenage sleuth. “Batwoman” will air Sundays at 8 p.m., right before “Supergirl.” “Nancy Drew” will air in post-“Riverdale” time slot at 9 p.m. Wednesdays.
In other moves, three returning series were relocated on the schedule: “All American” moves to Mondays, while “Charmed” will now air on Fridays and the final season of “Arrow,” will air on Tuesdays.
The CW will also introduce “Katy Keene” at midseason. It’s a “Riverdale” spin-off based on the Archie Comics character and stars Lucy Hale (“Pretty Little Liars”). Returning shows being held for midseason include “Legends of Tomorrow,” “In the Dark,” “The 100” and “Roswell, New Mexico.”
Leaving the schedule are “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “Jane the Virgin” and “iZombie.”
