Theater seeks more Friends
The Friends of the Heritage Theatre have launched a membership program to keep the 80-year-old facility in humming. The Friends are a nonprofit fundraising arm for the historic performing arts venue in downtown Campbell.
The new program offers annual memberships from $100 to $1,000, with various benefits attached to each of five levels.
A lifetime membership is $6,000, which can be paid in $2,000 increments over a three-year period. Benefits include a name plaque on a seat in the theater.
To register in the membership program or for more information, email foththeatre@gmail.com.

Candidates in Santa Clara County elections can collect signatures of qualified registered voters through Nov. 6 to cover all or part of the filing fee required to run for office.
Filing fees for county races on the March 3 presidential primary ballot are 1 percent of the official’s annual salary. Candidates can opt to collect signatures instead of paying that fee at a rate of three signatures for every dollar of the filing fee.
Qualified signatures must be from Santa Clara County voters who live in the area represented by the seat being sought. Local offices in the March election that require a filing fee include Superior Court judge and county supervisors in Districts 2, 3 and 5. Candidates in Assembly Districts 24, 25, 27, 28, 29 and 30 need to collect 1,000 signatures to completely offset the filing fee. Those running for State Senate in Districts 13, 15 and 17 need 2,000, as do those running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Districts 17, 18, 19 and 20,
