Map: PG&E power shutoff, October 5
Pacific Gas & Electric has announced a planned electricity shutoff on Saturday, Oct. 5, for about 12,000 customers in Butte, Yuba and Plumas counties.

The utility planned to begin cutting electricity at 10 p.m. Saturday because of expected windy and dry conditions in the Sierra foothills near Chico.
PG&E will attempt to contact affected customers before the outage.
The area covers the communities of Chico, Oroville, Paradise, Berry Creek, Brownsville, Brush Creek, Butte Meadows, Butte Valley, Challenge, Cohasset, Dobbins, Feather Falls, Forbestown, Forest Ranch, Magalia, Paradise Pines, Pulga, Stirling City, Storrie and Yankee Hill.
