Santa Cruz police looks to community for help in apprehending alleged urine-spraying suspect
The Santa Cruz Police Department is looking to the community for help in identifying a man reportedly spraying people with an unknown liquid, possibly urine.
SANTA CRUZ — The Santa Cruz Police Department is looking to the community for help in identifying a man reportedly spraying people with an unknown liquid.
The unknown liquid, according to a post on the police department’s Facebook page, is possibly urine.
There have been three incidents, two reported to the police department and one was mentioned on a social media post.
The incidents reported to police happened Sept. 14 and Sept. 24, one while the victim was jogging on Water Street near Reed Way and the other happened in the 500 block of Ocean View Avenue.
Officers reached out to the individual who reported a similar incident on social media, but have not heard back. The incident allegedly happened on the bridge from San Lorenzo Park toward downtown and at the corner of New Leaf Market on Pacific Avenue.
One of the victims was able to describe the suspect to a sketch artist and is described as a Hispanic male, 5 foot 4 inches tall, overweight, black hair and brown eyes. One instance the suspect was wearing a gray pullover sweater with a Santa Cruz skateboard logo on the back of it.
