Jimmy Kimmel: Lara Trump is a ‘heartless imbecile with lip injections’ for comments about Kurds
Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday lashed out at Lara Trump’s justifications for her father-in-law, President Donald Trump, deciding Oct. 6 to abandon America’s Kurdish allies in Syria.
The late-night host sarcastically mused on how the president sends “the best people” out to publicly defend his controversial decisions, “people like his daughter-in-law Lara Trump, wife of Eric.”
Kimmel then called Lara Trump a “heartless imbecile with lip injections” after playing a clip of her saying on Fox News Tonight that Trump’s acquiescence to Turkey on the Kurds — a move with potentially calamitous geopolitical ramifications — made sense because she doesn’t think most Americans know who the Kurds are.

Fox News Tonight host Shannon Bream had asked Lara Trump, who also is a senior advisor for Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign, to respond to a New York Times piece that argued that her father-in-law’s “off-script” decision had, in just one week’s time, “turned into a bloody carnage … and given an unanticipated victory to four American adversaries: Russia, Iran, the Syrian government and the Islamic State.”
Lara Trump’s response was: “Well, Shannon, I think we should start with the fact that if you ask the average American out there, I think they would have to google ‘Who are the Kurds, and why is America even over there fighting this war?'”

To Lara Trump’s reply, an evidently fired up Kimmel said, “They’d also have to google, ‘Who is the heartless imbecile with lip injections on my TV right now?'”
Kimmel then said, “The Kurds, Lara, are our allies, and if they get slaughtered ISIS moves in. They’re really scraping the bottom of the Trump-family barrel on the news.”
During her Fox News interview, Lara Trump, a former producer for “Inside Edition” and spokesperson for Trump Productions’ “Real News Update,” also rattled off several falsehoods, according to Mediaite.com.
One was her claim that America was supposed to only be in the region “for 30 days” but have been there “for 10 years.” In 2014, then-President Obama committed troops to an international coalition fighting ISIS and partnered with Kurdish fighters in Syria who were seen as best able to take on the extremists, the New York Times reported. Obama gave no deadline for the troops staying there at the time.
Bream noted to Lara Trump that the Kurds, who successfully fought ISIS on the behalf of the United States, now have “no defenses” and are “being slaughtered.” Bream also brought up concerns that other potential allies may be hesitant to partner with the United States in the future.
Lara Trump replied that the president had always said he wanted to pull out of Syria and is now finally doing that almost three years into his presidency.
“So it shouldn’t be a surprise, and I don’t think the people should be hesitant to partner with the United States in any way as result of this,” Lara Trump said, adding “I certainly hope not.”
Kimmel earlier used his segment to take a swipe against ongoing concerns of nepotism in the Trump White House, with Ivanka Trump getting a job as senior advisor in 2017, even though she had no prior government experience. Kimmel was addressing the Ukraine controversy which in part deals with Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President and Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
Regarding Hunter Biden’s interview on ABC, Kimmel said, “He admitted he probably wouldn’t have been asked to serve on the board of that company if his father wasn’t vice president — unlike Ivanka Trump, who earned her role in the White House on the merits of her line of stylish pumps.”
