San Jose mother pleads for help in finding missing daughter
SAN JOSE – A San Jose mother is asking for the public’s help in finding her missing 14-year-old daughter.
Serena Duong left for Yerba Buena High School on Friday but never returned home, her mother, Mai Lydia Pham, wrote in a Facebook post Monday.
“We have contacted the police and notified her school and still no news of her whereabouts,” Pham wrote. “We have contacted her friends and social media but still no clue.”
Serena is “still in San Jose” and is “believed to be in danger,” added Pham, who did not immediately respond to an interview request.
San Jose police have listed Serena as a runaway, not a missing person, according to Officer Gina Tepoorten.
Serena is described as 4 feet 9 inches tall and 108 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about Serena’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact the police department’s missing persons unit at 408-277-4786.
