Stephen Curry broadcasts Warriors game: ‘My plus-minus as a sideline reporter is phenomenal’
Stephen Curry, part broadcaster, part cheerleader, witnessed the Warriors snap a 10-game losing streak.
Stephen Curry not only plays a good game, he talks one, too.
Curry, on the mend from a broken hand, took a turn as a sideline reporter during Saturday’s Warriors game against the Orlando Magic.
It was a rare instance in which a broadcaster could be excused for acting like a homer.
Curry multi-tasked during his stint in the third quarter at the Chase Center, kibitzing with broadcasters Bob Fitzgerald and Kelenna Azubuike, and reacting to what was happening on the court.
He was addressing a question from Fitzgerald when Willie Cauley-Stein threw down a lob pass.
“My plus-minus as a sideline reporter is phenomenal,” Curry said. “I might need to quit.”

A few seconds later, Curry exulted when Damion Lee, who happens to be his brother-in-law, nailed a runner in the lane.
“That’s my family, with the floater!” he said.
Curry also provided a medical update. “I’ve been making progress, no setbacks,” he said.
He even took a whirl at play-by-play.
“The Warriors have opened up a 12-point lead with three minutes left to go in the third quarter,” he intoned. “Great Warriors defense! They’re swarming all over the place!”

When the game was over — The Warriors broke a 10-game losing streak — Curry sought an interview from teammate Eric Paschall.
“You’re a great basketball player,” he told the rookie, “and an ever better interview.”
Just as Curry shows flashes as a sideline reporter, but is an even better baller.
Don’t quit your day job, Steph.
