Coronavirus: California releases incomplete list of assisted living facilities with infections
State of California releases list of assisted living facilities where staff and/or patients have tested positive for coronavirus, but it is not complete.
The state released a scant list of assisted living facilities late Monday where staff and residents have tested positive for the coronavirus, but it appears far from complete — containing less than two dozen names.
It identifies four in the Bay Area, including one in Pleasant Hill with an ongoing outbreak and at least five deaths, but doesn’t mention one in Burlingame where at least two people have died. Overall, the list includes cases from only five counties.
Officials at the state Department of Social Services, which regulates assisted living facilities and published the list, did not immediately respond to questions Tuesday. Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that the list would be released Monday and said it would include the number of deaths in the facilities. The list, however, does not include any reference to death numbers.
The list shows cases in Contra Costa and San Mateo counties but has no numbers elsewhere in the Bay Area.
Contra Costa County
Carlton Senior Living, Pleasant Hill: 31 residents, 21 staff. But numbers Contra Costa County released Friday – it’s last update – listed 58 cases combined at Carlton.
San Mateo County
Atria, Daly City: 13 residents, 12 staff.
Abigail Complete Care, Redwood City: fewer than 11 residents, fewer than 11 staff.
Sunrise of Burlingame: fewer than 11 residents, fewer than 11 staff.
