Police identify victim in Richmond shooting death
RICHMOND — Authorities have released the identity of a 25-year-old man shot and killed here last week.
T’Shawn Richard, 25, was shot and killed Thursday afternoon during an argument on the 700 block of Barrett Avenue, police said. Richard resided in Richmond.
Richard was shot and killed around 3 p.m. during an argument, possibly a dispute over a jewelry item, authorities said. He died a short distance from where he was shot, despite attempts by emergency responders to revive him.
Police have not named a suspect nor announced any arrests, but say the shooting does not appear to be gang-related.
A nearby gunfire detector alerted that dozens of shots were being fired at the time, but police have not said how many times Richard was struck.
Richard’s killing was the city’s 18th homicide of the year, most of them shooting deaths.
Authorities say witnesses can reach the lead investigator, Det. Chris Decious, at 510-621-1747, or call Richmond’s anonymous tip line at 510-307-T1PS (8177).
