Danville: Three arrested following armed robbery at Trader Joe’s
The robbery occurred Friday afternoon.
Following an “extensive search” by multiple agencies, three suspects were arrested Friday for an armed robbery that occurred in a Trader Joe’s parking lot in Danville, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 4:36 p.m., Danville police were called to the parking lot of the popular grocery store on Railroad Avenue.
The victim told police that he was held at gunpoint by two suspects as he was leaving his car. They fled with the victim’s personal property in a car driven by a third person.
After a search which included Danville police, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s office and a helicopter, Sheriff’s office detectives located the suspect vehicle in Antioch.
All three suspects — two of whom were juveniles — were eventually found and arrested.
The adult 18-year-old suspect, who is from San Jose, was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on charges including armed robbery, conspiracy, participating in a criminal street gang and several weapons violations. He is being held on $380,000 bail.
