Oakland: Teen shot in face, torso in Eastlake neighborhood
A 19-year-old man was shot multiple times in East Oakland, authorities said.
OAKLAND — A 19-year-old man was shot multiple times in East Oakland on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The man was later listed in stable condition at a hospital with wounds to his torso and face.
The shooting happened about 10:40 a.m. in the area of 5th Avenue and International Boulevard, several blocks east of Lake Merritt in the city’s Eastlake neighborhood.
The man told police he was driving in a BMW sport-utility vehicle that was stopped when somebody began shooting at him from outside.
Despite being wounded, he was able to drive to an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Myrtle Street in West Oakland’s Oak Center neighborhood where someone gave him a ride to a hospital.
Police have not determined a motive for the shooting and have not made any arrests.
