Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) boys Athlete of the Week poll.
For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.
This week, we consider performances from Feb. 6-11.
Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Vote as many times as you’d like until then without using bots or any other artificial methods of voting.
Votes by email are not counted.

Winners are announced each Friday online and, starting Sept. 30, in the print edition of the Mercury News and East Bay Times sports sections.

We accept nominations until 11 a.m. each Monday.
We also review stats submitted to MaxPreps by coaches/team statisticians.
On to the nominees:
Elias Arreguin, Fremont-Sunnyvale soccer: In his team’s 2-0 victory over Monta Vista, the sophomore scored one goal and assisted on the other. First-place Fremont improved to 10-4-4 overall and 6-2-3 in the SCVAL El Camino Division.
Tylek Barnett, The King’s Academy basketball: Scored 21 points as TKA avenged a loss to Priory last month, beating the Portola Valley school 61-54 on Thursday. Jon Taylor also scored 21 points in the win. Barnett is averaging 17.2 points per game, Taylor 17.1.
Ryan Beasley, Dougherty Valley basketball: Scored 24 of his 42 points in the fourth quarter as Dougherty Valley charged back from a 27-point deficit in the third period to stun San Ramon Valley 86-83 in the semifinals of the EBAL tournament. Followed that up with 24 points — 13 in the fourth quarter — as the Wildcats beat Granada 77-70 in the final.
Jake Davis, Las Lomas basketball: The senior has scored 31 points in three consecutive games, including twice last week when the Knights beat Clayton Valley Charter and College Park. He shot 11 of 16 in a 62-47 win over Clayton Valley and 10 of 19 in a 78-65 win over College Park.
Taj Gil, James Logan soccer: The senior scored two goals to lead the Colts past Moreau Catholic 3-1 in Mission Valley Athletic League play. Logan was seeded 12th in the North Coast Section Division I playoffs.
Andre Gonzalez Lombera, Menlo School soccer: Returned from an injury to score a goal in a 1-1 tie against rival Sacred Heart Prep. The junior then had a goal and two assists in a victory over Eastside.
Marco Jara, Clayton Valley Charter soccer: The senior scored a goal in a 2-1 victory over Acalanes and another goal in a 1-1 tie against Las Lomas, giving him six goals on the season for a team that will enter the NCS Division I playoffs as the No. 1 seed.
Bryce Luna, St. Francis wrestling: The junior defeated Los Gatos freshman Joseph Pavlov-Ramirez 3-1 in the first-place match at the Central Coast Section Northern Regional meet at Fremont-Sunnyvale. Luna is ranked fourth in the state by the California Wrestler.
Clarence Moore, Branham wrestling: The senior finished first at 106 pounds at the CCS Southern Regional meet at Watsonville, defeating Gilroy freshman Dominic Bozanic by fall at 0:49. The California Wrestler ranks Moore seventh in the state in his weight class.
Antonio Rodriguez, Los Gatos wrestling: Ranked third in the state at 113 pounds by the California Wrestler, the freshman beat Monta Vista’s Hayden Ancheta 3-1 in the CCS Northern Regional final. Ancheta is ranked sixth in the state, according to the California Wrestler.
