Saratoga Elementary School seeks Invention Convention judges
Dozens of 5th-graders have entered the science symposium.
STEM judges wanted
Saratoga Elementary School is looking for judges for its March 8 Invention Convention Science Symposium, where 55 inventions by the school’s fifth-graders will be presented. There will be a training on the judging rubric from 8-8:30 a.m. and the judging will begin soon after, running until 12:30 p.m.
Judges should be interested in STEM education and cannot be parents or grandparents of the student inventors.

St. Paddy’s Party
The Saratoga Development Council is holding its annual St. Paddy’s Party March 11, 2-4 p.m., in the Saratoga Village. Families are invited to search for pennies on the ground, and for green and gold items along Big Basin Way. Whoever collects the most of the latter wins a prize.
Village businesses will be handing out green popcorn and other treats, and activities for children are planned.
Tales of ‘Heart’s Delight’
Author Robin Chapman is set to give a March 14 talk on her new book “The Valley of Heart’s Delight: True Tales from Around the Bay” at the Saratoga Foothill Club, 20399 Park Place.
A former White House reporter for ABC-7 News, Chapman has written two other books about the Santa Clara Valley. She will be signing copies of all three at her talk, scheduled for 7 p.m.
