Oakland: Three people shot in East Oakland
After an argument broke out among attendees, the victims were transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
OAKLAND — Two men were shot Saturday morning at an East Oakland birthday party, while a third victim was shot in a separate domestic dispute Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
All three men were later listed in stable condition.
The first shooting happened about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of 54th Avenue.
Initial reports, according to police, were that numerous people were attending a birthday party when an argument erupted between some of the attendees.
The shooting happened outside with at least one person firing multiple gunshots, according to the initial reports.
A 20-year-old Oakland man was wounded at least twice and a 19-year-old Oakland man was wounded once. Both men got their own transportation to a hospital.
The shooter fled before police got to the scene.
Police are trying to determine if the men shot were intended targets or if they were hit by random bullets.
Neither a detailed description of the shooter nor an associated vehicle were released. Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
Around 2:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a possible shooting in the 3200 block of Brookdale Avenue. Officers found a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound after what a police spokesman called a domestic dispute.
First responders took the victim to a hospital for treatment, and that victim was later listed in stable condition. Police said a person was taken into custody after that shooting, but did not say whether they were arrested on suspicion of any charges.
