Woman killed in East Bay district’s second homicide in two days
The previous night, a boy was fatally shot about a mile and a half away.
A woman was killed and a man wounded in a shooting Friday night in unincorporated Alameda County.
The attack was reported at 9:47 p.m. on East 14th Street near 151st Avenue in the community of Ashland, between San Leandro and Hayward.
Alameda County sheriff’s deputies and San Leandro police found a 47-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman with gunshot wounds.
Both received emergency medical assistance at the scene and were then transported to a hospital. The woman died of her injuries.
Investigators say the shooting occurred during a verbal dispute between the suspect and the victims.
It was Ashland’s second homicide in two days: A boy was fatally shot Thursday near 14th Street and Highway 238.
