Firefighters halt progress of 12 acre blaze north of Vacaville

Cal Fire said firefighters had stopped forward progress of a 12-acre wildfire that broke out north of Vacaville on Saturday afternoon.

As of 6 p.m., the Pippo Fire remained small and was 30% contained, according to Cal Fire. About 50 firefighters had been assigned to smother the blaze in hills north of Vacaville.

“Resources remain at scene strengthening containment lines and putting out hotspots,” Cal Fire said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, according to the firefighting agency.
