FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Monday Evening,
It has been the warmest day of the year, with afternoon temps pushing into the upper 60s to near 70 in spots, well above our normal high of just 44. Expect some clouds to increase this evening, with temps well above normal in the lower 50s. After midnight we are going to be watching for some showers and possible storms to form to our west in Indiana, and a few could stray into our area before daybreak.
Tuesday the chance of early showers and storms, and then a bit of a lull through the day. We will see a few isolated showers later in the day with high temps back into the middle 60s and a modest south breeze throughout the day. Tuesday night we will be watching as a line of showers and storms will approach the area, mainly after midnight.
Temps will stay very warm overnight Tuesday night into Wednesday as temps will drop into the upper 50s, and maybe tip back around 60 in the morning, but as showers and storms work through the area, temps will begin to fall in the afternoon and evening hours on Wednesday. Winds will also be up on Wednesday ahead of the front, and behind it as well.
Thursday expect a much colder day with high temps only into the lower 40s with plenty of sunshine. I expect a cool night Thursday night, but a nice bounce back on Friday back into the upper 40s to near 50. We will see more clouds with a system passing to our south, with a few showers possible in the southern part of the state.
The weekend will start off with temps in the upper 30s, but will see temps surge into the upper 50s during the afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds. As high pressure builds in, sunshine will expand on Sunday with some of the warmest temps of the year. In fact most of us will be in the upper 60s to near 70 on Sunday.
Monday expect breezier conditions, ahead of our next front, with sun and clouds, with showers possible late day and highs in the upper 60s to near 70.
