FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Friday afternoon!
Skies have remained mostly dry through this morning, but wet weather is already starting to creep in. As we get closer to the weekend, rain chances will turn widespread and will last for at least another day.
A low pressure center and cold front will slowly draw closer to us as we go into this evening. In the meantime, southerly flow will push temperatures to the upper 50s and lower 60s with a few showers moving through. Heavier showers and more widespread chances move in later this evening.
Rain will remain steady overnight and throughout the day tomorrow. Rounds of rain will push in and out Saturday morning and again Saturday afternoon. With temperatures warmest at the start of the day, there is the chance to see a few storms by the afternoon. Saturday and Sunday will be windy, with gusts reaching up to 20 to 30 MPH.
Temperatures will fall below freezing Saturday night into Sunday morning. Most of the heaviest showers will have moved out, but the lingering, backflow precipitation has the chance to fall as a wintry mix or a few flurries. By Sunday afternoon, skies are finally dry.
The weather is on the mend for the first half of next week. Sunshine returns for Monday and will help bump temperatures back to the lower 50s. We are gradually warming through the week, reaching the mid 60s by Wednesday. Temperatures will land just shy of 70 degrees Thursday with a few showers returning.
