FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Thursday Evening,
Today has turned out to be the warmest day of the year so far, as temps have climbed into the mid to upper 80s, well above the normal high of 80 for the date. Tonight, we will have partly cloudy skies and a very mild night with lows running about 16 degrees above normal in the middle 60s.
Friday will start off with a top 3 warmest start for May 3rd, so we will have no problem climbing into the 70s by mid-late morning, with afternoon highs into the lower 80s with pop up showers and storms expected later in the day. The frontal boundary that will move slowly towards our area, will shift east for Saturday.
This will keep rain chances around for the first half of the day on Saturday, and then shifting east in the afternoon , with highs still mild in the upper 70s. Another boundary will slowly lift north on Sunday with highs back into the upper 70s to near 80 with some isolated storms especially later in the day. Monday will have some drying early, but storms forming later in the day as a front will push back up into our area.
Highs on Monday will still be above normal in the middle to upper 70s. We will see slightly better chances of rain and storms on Tuesday with highs back into the lower 80s with the warm front north of our area. It will be breezy for next Wednesday, with you guess it, a chance of showers and storms on and off, with highs again near 80.
The next slow moving cold front will still be to our west on Thursday, with a chance of showers ahead of it, and temps still above normal in the upper 70s.
