Central Ohio brewery in search of new ownership after 14 years
GRANVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) -- A central Ohio brewery that welcomed beer enthusiasts for more than a decade is looking to pass the taproom to new ownership.
Founders Jay Parsons and Ross Kirk of Granville Brewing Company announced on social media last week that they are selling the Licking County brewery at 5371 Columbus Road. The post said Parsons and Kirk, along with their families, have decided it's time for their tenure as owners of Granville Brewing to come to an end.
"It is a difficult decision, but one that we owe to this special place," Parsons and Kirk wrote, noting that the sale includes everything except the building. The post didn't include an asking price.
Granville Brewing was founded 14 years ago and offers Belgian-style beers and ales. The brand's brewery sits among farmland and is located near the intersection of Columbus Road and Outville Road in a renovated horse barn, inviting customers to the property's taproom, barnyard patio, or for carryout.
"Granville Brewing Company, which started as a conversation over beers in 2011, has been an amazing journey filled with good friends, laughs, tears, and a lot of great beer," the post said. "The brewery brought you all to the same place and you built an amazing community of people from all walks of life through conversation and beers."
Parsons and Kirk encouraged longtime customers in the post to come celebrate "this weird, wonderful place." The brewery, which is open from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, has "plenty of beer and will remain open until it is gone," the post said.
"We have had an amazing experience bringing GBC this far and hope that someone wants to pick up the ball and continue to carry it down the field with the love and energy it deserves," Parsons and Kirk wrote.
