Ohio man sentenced to 15 years for rape of two children
LOGAN, Ohio (WCMH) -- A Marietta man was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Thursday for his role in the rape of two children.
Paul Sebring, 54, pleaded guilty to one count of rape, two counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of obstruction official business on June 17. On Thursday, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Court documents show Sebring has a history of sexual violence, including crimes toward minors.
Sebring was charged alongside Irene Marie Day, who pleaded guilty in August 2024 to two counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition. Day was sentenced to 20 to 25 years in prison last year. Court documents show the two victims were ages 7-9 and were abused between April and September of 2018.
Sebring and Day had hoped to be tried together, but a judge denied the request. Sebring had been preparing for a trial before he decided to plead guilty, court documents show.
Sebring was already a twice-registered sex offender with a long criminal history. In 2019, he pleaded guilty to gross sexual imposition. According to court documents, he had sexual contact with two girls younger than 13 over a period of six months in 2013 and 2014.
Court records show he had also been arrested previously for parole violations, domestic violence, two counts of rape and nine counts of sexual battery.
He was charged with sexual battery in 2016 for sexual conduct of a child in his custody. Court documents do not name the child or detail their relationship further, but the offense occurred over two years, beginning when the victim was 13.
