Columbus Business Beat: Big Lots HQ site, OSU 1922 club

• OhioHealth has applied to rezone the former Big Lots headquarters at 4900 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus Business First looked into an application that was filed with the city of Columbus that stated it would be used for "hospital or medical use."
• Developer Manav Singh is looking to build a boutique hotel at the site of the former 5th Ave Floral Co. The shop was open for more than 120 years and closed permanently this summer at 1877 Kenny Rd. Singh has purchased the land, but plans are still in the early stages.
• A restaurant that will feature "Midwest comfort food with soul" is open at 2333 N. High St. near Ohio State's campus. The eatery is taking over after Oishii 2 Japanese Bistro opened in the spring, but closed. Before Oishii was Adelaide’s Gin Joint, which closed in 2024.
• Ohio State's new members-only club is getting underway. Construction has started for the 1922 club, which will be located inside Ohio Stadium.

• Hot Chicken Takeover has shuttered another central Ohio location, marking the chain’s third closure since it was acquired by a new owner last year.
• Longtime Texas chicken chain named Layne’s Chicken Fingers is expanding with locations in central Ohio.
• A restaurant group will soon launch its latest Potbelly Sandwich Shop location in Marysville, and plans to open over a dozen more in central Ohio. 
• Cava is coming to 1790 Hilliard Rome Road, according to city permits filed last week. The national brand plans to remodel the building in the Hilliard Green neighborhood, which housed a Skyline Chili that closed in February.
