California-based boba tea shop to open first Ohio location in Columbus
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A California-based boba tea chain is planning to launch its first Ohio location in northwest Columbus.
Cha Redefine will open at 1930 W. Henderson Road in the Northcrest neighborhood, according to city permits. The address previously housed another boba tea shop called Miu Tea, whose owner is staying on and welcoming Cha Redefine as a franchisee.
Cha Redefine's social media states that its Columbus location, which will mark its first spot in Ohio, is “coming soon.” The boba shop has four locations, all of which are in California. The brand debuted in Pasadena in 2020.
The business serves a variety of coffee, tea, smoothies and fruit-flavored drinks. Some menu items include a blueberry oat milk matcha latte, strawberry and avocado smoothie, and taro tea with boba.
The chain’s teas are infused with “fresh” and “local” ingredients, according to its website. Chapuccinos, which are similar to cappuccinos but made with a tea base, are one of Cha Redefine’s signature drinks.
“Our passion is to create a new interpretation of traditional tea,” its website says. “Cha Redefine has combined traditional tea with a modern brewing methods to breathe new life into tea culture.”
The brand appears to have plans for expansion, as its website claims “more and more Cha Redefine stores are coming soon.”
