COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- An Oregon-based car wash chain will soon starting popping up around central Ohio.
Tsunami Express Car Wash announced this month that it purchased more than 50 Midwest locations from Take 5 Car Wash. The acquisition includes more than two dozen car washes in Ohio, including the following Columbus-area Take 5 locations:
- 3941 W. Broad St. in Columbus.
- 3267 Morse Road in Columbus.
- 2200 Polaris Parkway in Columbus.
- 121 State Route 3 in Sunbury.
- 3911 E. Broad St. in Whitehall.
Other Take 5 car washes in Ohio that are part of the acquisition include locations in Circleville, Springfield, Bellefontaine, Chillicothe, Toledo, Wilmington, Hillsboro and more. The Oregon company is also relaunching a former Goo-Goo car wash in Columbus under the Tsunami Express name at 8402 N. High St.
"These locations are a strong fit for our growth strategy," said Chris Schuldt, the CEO of Tsunami Express, in a release. "They expand our footprint into high‑priority markets and allow us to quickly introduce our premium Tsunami experience to new communities."
Tsunami Express is rebranding all purchased Take 5 locations and implementing its "signature Tsunami CleanTech experience," which the company said will include "best-in-class equipment, premium amenities and enhanced member experience."
With this acquisition, Tsunami Express grows its operations to 74 locations across Ohio and eight other states: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
"With this acquisition, Tsunami Express strengthens its position as one of the fastest-growing car wash operators in the Midwest," the company said in the release. "The company remains focused on delivering consistent quality, investing in its people, and building long-term relationships with customers as it continues to expand."
