Two men dead after crash involving semi-truck in Groveport on Monday
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Two men are dead after a fiery crash involving a semi-truck in Groveport on Monday.
Around 3:30 p.m., a white 2000 Freightliner semi-truck was traveling north on Green Pointe Drive South and stopped to make a turn into a business. At the same time, a white 2004 Honda CRV was driving north on Green Pointe Drive South, and struck the rear of the semi-truck at a “high rate of speed,” according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
The Honda caught fire, but it was quickly extinguished by fire responders, the sheriff’s office said. Franklin County deputies, officers from Groveport Police Department and medics from Madison Township responded to the crash.
The driver of the semi was not injured. The driver and passenger of the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene.
