Bachelor: Peter Weber & Madison Prewett Broke Up Two Days After Finale

0

It was obvious it was not going to last long, but still, Peter Weber and Madison Prewett pulled the plug on this relationship quicker than we could have anticipated. Two days after The Bachelor finale, it's over.

Peter ended his journey as The Bachelor as gracelessly as he began it. He got engaged to a woman he probably wasn't really ever in love with, feuded with his over-the-top mother and pursued a relationship with a woman with whom he had little in common. If there were a book entitled, "What Not to Do When You're The Bachelor," Peter would be the face on the front and back cover. There are countless examples that show why he failed so miserably in a role he was ill-prepared to take on. There was the indecision with Alayah, the ignoring of warning signs with Victoria F, the lying to Hannah Ann, and finally, falling in love with Madison, someone who lives a completely different life outside of the show. Peter didn't know what he wanted, and now he is exactly where he needs to be: with no one, figuring himself out before he enters into another serious relationship.

Peter wrote in an Instagram post Thursday night, "Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further."  Again, this news is not shocking. It is surprising, however, that it comes less than 48 hours after they decided to give their relationship another try. The biggest hurdle they would have to clear is getting Peter's mother Barb - and to a much, much lesser extent, his father and brother - to accept his decision and acknowledge that Madison was a good fit for him. Anyone who saw the finale knows that was never going to happen.

Madison expressed clearly in Australia why they weren't compatible during their breakup. Her concerns were valid. They were two people who cared deeply about one another but who led two separate lives that were never going to mesh together. After she left, Chris Harrison tracked her down in Auburn and convinced her to return. She said she still loved Peter, but Chris never asked Madison if she still had the same apprehensions she had in Australia. The fact that he went behind Peter's back was shady as well, as it's entirely possible Peter was ready to move on from it all. Chris told Madison that Peter had dumped Hannah Ann because he was in love with Madison, which was not really the truth.

So basically, it's entirely possible that Madison and Peter weren't 100 percent committed to attempting to date again, no matter how much The Bachelor wanted the season to conclude with Peter not ending up alone. It would have been much more appropriate had Madison not returned. Peter's actions this season proved he wasn't ready for marriage, much less a serious relationship.
