Rainbow Six Siege Board Game Kickstarter Ends With Over $1.5 Million Raised

0

Tabletop game publisher Mythic Games just closed its Kickstarter campaign for 6: Siege - a Rainbow Six: Siege board game - which managed to secure more than $1.5 million in funding. In partnership with publisher Ubisoft, Mythic Games launched the 6: Siege - The Board Game Kickstarter on June 22, asking for $100,000 of support.

The crowdfunding campaign quickly blew past its funding goal, too. Within hours of the Kickstarter page going live, 3,500 backers had pledged approximately $500,000 to 6: Siege - The Board Game; thus, the project was fully funded not long after debuting on the platform. And Rainbow Six: Siege seems to be in good hands, given Mythic's history in the space with projects such as Darkest Dungeon: The Board GameReichbusters: Projekt Vril, and Super Fantasy Brawl. 6: Siege will offer a different type of experience, though, one that attempts to capture the tactical draw of the standard Rainbow Six adventure.

As scheduled, today, July 2, marked the time at which Mythic Games closed the Kickstarter campaign for 6: Siege - The Board Game. After just over a week of crowdfunding, the project managed to rake in $1,541,264 of support from exactly 10,883 backers. The board game currently boasts a launch window of June 2022, though other specifics regarding its release remain under wraps for the time being. For a glimpse at what the tabletop experience entails, check out the previously released trailer in the video linked below:

Again, the pledge of $1.5 million is impressive considering the original funding goal of only $100,000. The project itself seems impressive as well, given what's known about Mythic Games' plans. For instance, the "core box" for 6: Siege will come packed with 20 32mm-scaled mini Siege Operators, including the likes of Castle, Fuse, IQ, Jäger, and Thermite. The package will also boast a double-sided board, two fire overlays, two gas overlays, four armor panel standees, 15 cardboard obstacles, and much more.

Mythic Games has additionally outlined its intentions for Year 1 - 5 Operator expansions and two separate map packs, the later of which are titled Concrete City and Dead End. Backers who pledged at the "Fresh Recruit" level ($81) can expect to receive the contents of the core package. "Troopers" who lent $241 of support will get the core box and all of the aforementioned expansions and map packs. Meanwhile, "Smooth Operator" backers spent $325 to secure access to all of the above and daily unlocks.
