Shooter in Austria kills a man and wounds a woman before taking his own life, police say

Police in Austria say a man was fatally shot and a woman seriously wounded south of Vienna. Police said the shooter fled in a vehicle before taking his own life on Sunday morning. The woman was airlifted to a hospital in Vienna. Local media suggest the shooting followed an argument involving the three individuals. The Lower Austrian State Office of Criminal Investigation is handling the case but has not released further details.



An apartment fire in Turkey's Ankara kills 3, including a baby

A fire at a 26-story apartment building in the Turkish capital, Ankara, has killed three people, including a three-and-a-half-month-old baby. The blaze started late Saturday night on the fourth floor and spread rapidly, according to local media. Firefighters took four hours to extinguish the flames. Justice Dept. fires more prosecutors, support staff involved in Trump prosecutions, AP sources say

The Justice Department has fired additional lawyers and support staff who worked on special counsel Jack Smith’s investigations into President Donald Trump. That's according to two people familiar with the matter. The overall number of terminations was not immediately clear. But they cut across both the classified documents and election interference prosecutions brought by Smith, and included a handful of prosecutors who were detailed to the probe as well as Justice Department support staff and other personnel who aided them.
