The International Criminal Court says that a Libyan man accused of crimes against humanity and war crimes has been arrested. Khaled Mohamed Ali El Hishri, a former senior official at Miriga Prison in Tripoli, was detained in Germany on Wednesday. He is accused of overseeing or committing crimes such as murder, torture, and sexual violence in Libya between 2015 and 2020. The court said Friday that his arrest follows a sealed warrant issued this month. El Hishri will remain in Germany until his transfer to The Hague. The ICC thanked German authorities for their cooperation. The court investigates crimes allegedly committed in Libya since 2011.
