Saudi Arabia says the leader of a separatist movement in Yemen has fled to an unknown location. This comes after he was believed to be planning to travel to the kingdom for negotiations. A Saudi-led coalition spokesperson says the leader, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, was expected to fly to Saudi Arabia but he didn't board the plane. Other council officials did. The spokesperson claims Al-Zubaidi moved a large force before fleeing, including weapons and vehicles. The council has not commented. Recent tensions have strained ties between Saudi Arabia and the UAE, who have been allies against the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
