Pieter Mulier has been named the new creative director of Versace starting July 1, the Prada Group announced on Thursday. Mulier is currently the creative director of Alaïa and was previously the right-hand man of Raf Simons at Calvin Klein, Jil Sander, and Dior. In his new role, Mulier will report to Versace executive chairman Lorenzo Bertelli. Bertelli said he believes Mulier can unlock Versace’s full potential. Mulier was honored last fall by Naomi Campbell at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards for his work at Alaïa, where he took the creative helm in 2021.
