Democrats recruit popular content creators in new strategy to win back Latino voters
Democrats are playing catch-up in having online influencers and content creators promote their candidates and priorities. A new strategy being rolled out ahead of the Texas primary by the party's Congressional Hispanic Caucus is intended to be one answer. The party is recruiting local content creators and podcasters in hopes that it will help attract Latino and younger voters to their candidates. Democratic candidates and influencers gathered recently at an event in Houston to launch the effort, although it's not clear when or how widely it will spread. Online influencers were key to Republicans' success in attracting younger voters and voters of color during the 2024 elections.
