Millions of Texas voters are casting ballots under redrawn U.S. House maps that were engineered to boost Republicans in the 2026 elections. Tuesday's primary elections in Texas are among the first in the nation ahead of November's midterms. President Donald Trump last year pressured Republican-led states to alter congressional districts with the goal of blunting Democrats’ chances to reclaim power. Some Democratic voters are left worried about representation under the new maps that were drawn to help the GOP win five additional seats. Republican supporters see a fairer reflection of the state’s politics. New congressional districts already have been adopted in six states.
