Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom’s Split Reportedly Had Everything To Do With Their Daughter Daisy
Going through a divorce is difficult for anyone, but add kids, and everything gets so much more complicated. Will they be able to handle it? How do you break the news to them? It’s tough! For Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, it was actually because of their 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove that they decided to make their split official, according to a new source.
Apparently, the “Teenage Dream” singer and Lord of the Rings actor “want to protect” their daughter Daisy among their public split, an insider told PEOPLE. A second source shared that the reason they decided to go with a breakup was so that their daughter wouldn’t see an unhealthy relationship.
“At a certain point, they had to admit it’s better for Daisy to see their parents separately, then she won’t grow up feeling the tension and animosity,” the source told the outlet.
That makes sense! Ask any kids of parents who stayed together for the kids, and those kids can tell. It’s not healthy to model a tension-filled marriage for your child, when you could show them that sometimes it’s better to split up and remain happy apart.
Another source told PEOPLE that Daisy comes first for Perry and Bloom. “They are there for Daisy and have been,” the insider said. “Daisy is their angel, and they want to protect her from anything adverse.”
The insider added, “They want to keep a friendly relationship so each can be around her separately or together.” Good for them!
Last week, the American Idol alum shared a photo of her daughter Daisy, who she was spending time with in Australia while Bloom was in Venice for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding. Perry posted a photo of Daisy holding the steering wheel in a boat, soaking up the Australian sun. It looks like pure bliss.
Even though things are no doubt difficult right now for Perry, she seems to be making the most of it to ensure her daughter isn’t affected by the breakup. And we love her more for it!
