Orlando Bloom's Post-Wedding Flirt Fest Reportedly Isn't Sitting Well With Katy Perry
There’s nothing worse than a breakup in the public eye — just ask Katy Perry.
The 40-year-old pop star and her former fiancé Orlando Bloom recently confirmed their split, and now, the paparazzi are tracking their every move. Perry is busy on her Lifetimes Tour, so there’s not much trouble to get into, but the 48-year-old actor appears to be living his best single-guy life this summer. And it’s reportedly affecting Perry on tour.
A Daily Mail insider described Bloom’s behavior as “disappointing,” “hurtful,” and “annoying” to Perry. That’s telling it like it is!
“If he’s going to behave like an acting-up adolescent, that’s on him. She’s going to continue to work and take care of [their daughter] Daisy,” the source added, “Katy knows that he’s free to do whatever the hell he wants to do, she hoped he’d do it a little more discreetly and thoughtfully. So, she’s disappointed and sad.”
At Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s late June wedding, there were immediate rumors about him and suddenly single star Sydney Sweeney, and then he boarded the Ritz-Carlton’s inaugural cruise for the Luminara in Italy. The party-boy image isn’t reflected in his Instagram Stories, though.
On July 2, he seemed to indicate that he was going through mixed emotions with a quote from Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung, per E! News: “Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself.”
On July 3, the former couple had their representative confirm the split and reveal that they’ve been separated since the beginning of the year, per Us Weekly — it wasn’t a new situation.
“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” the joint statement read. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
The heartache Perry is experiencing has been spotted by fans, who feel for the “California Gurls” singer. In late April at one of her Mexico City tour stops, she looked visibly upset while singing the lyrics from her 2010 song, “Pearl.”
“I let him rule my world,” she sang. “But I woke up and grew strong, and I can still go on and no one can take my pearl.”
It’s hard when a breakup is on display for the entire world to see. Hopefully, Perry will heal through her music, and Bloom keeps his single guy shenanigans under the radar for now.
