Aldi Dropped a Goodles Dupe & Reddit Is Giving It Rave Reviews
Mac and cheese are one of those comfort foods that’s pretty much perfect all the time. Creamy noodles, cheesy sauce — what’s not to love? But Goodles takes it one step further. This food brand offers mac and cheese with added nutrients, like more protein (yes!), veggies, fiber, and real cheese. You can basically use Goodles mac and cheese as a base for your entire dinner! Now Aldi, a store known for its amazing dupes, is selling packages of Goodles knockoffs that people are raving about on Reddit.
In the “Aldi” subreddit, one person shared a picture of two boxes of Cheese Club mac and cheese. Both are gluten free and made with chickpea pasta and real cheese (none of that powdered yellow stuff our kids like!). The elbow pasta with cheddar — aka, classic mac and cheese — has 15 grams of protein, whereas the shell pasta with white cheddar has 16 grams of protein.
It turns out, shoppers love Aldi’s version! “Made the classic cheddar tonight. Flavor and noodles were good!” one person wrote. Someone else said, “My picky fiancée loves the white cheddar! These are so good ????????”
“oh i absolutely love these and my boyfriend couldn’t even tell they were chick pea and he’s a mac and cheese FAN!” another said. (Maybe it would be a good way to trick the kids into eating a little healthier too?)
Others offered modifications, like one person who suggested adding parsley to the boiling water, then preparing the white cheddar noodles like normal. Afterward, they add black pepper, garlic powder, heavy whipping cream, butter, and a can of tuna. Yum!
At just $2.69 a box, these are also cheaper than Goodles’ version. It’s definitely worth a try!
Because cheese and pasta is basically our favorite food group, we are so excited for Aldi’s version. Something that makes it even easier to get our protein for the day is a huge win.
