One of Tom Cruise’s Exes Unexpectedly Didn’t Hold Back by Saying How ‘Proud of Him’ She Truly Is

So, one of Tom Cruise‘s exes is publicly saying she’s so proud of him. Now, either his exes are dead silent about him, or it’s insiders spilling the tea on what they actually think. But this time, one of his exes is publicly praising him in a truly unexpected turn of events.

In case you missed it, actress Rebecca DeMornay said to Page Six that she’s really proud of him. I’m really, really proud of him.”

“He’s like, ‘I am ‘Top Gun,’ and that’s what America really wanted and so he’s fulfilled it,” she continued. “He is a brilliant, brilliant interpreter of what the zeitgeist is,” she added. “I’m really, really proud of knowing him from when we were in the suburbs of Chicago [filming ‘Risky Business’], and knowing what he wanted and where it is now. We started this together and look what he did with it.”

So truly, she has nothing but nice things to say about her ex, and makes us wonder to this day why they broke up.

For those who don’t know, the pair were together from 1982 to 1985.

According to Cruise and DeMornay’s former Risky Business co-star Curtis Armstrong’s book Revenge of the Nerd, he alleged the two had an “intense affair,” since DeMornay was still with actor Harry Dean Stanton at the time.

DeMornay later confirmed in an interview with Celebrity Page in 2018. She said, “He came to grow on me because we wound up together for two and a half years after that film.”

She later talked about their romance again in 2024, saying to the Independent: “We were so in love, and the movie was a big smash, and I remember just feeling – wow, it’s just gonna go on like this! Not the case! Not at all.”
