Taylor Swift & Blake Lively’s Tension May Be Behind This Party Snub

The disco ball wasn’t the only thing spinning at Selena Gomez’s birthday party — so was the rumor mill.

Sources told Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop that Blake Lively was deliberately cut from the guest list for Gomez’s all-out, sequins-and-satin 33rd bash. “This wasn’t some innocent oversight,” one insider said. “It was personal.” And that personal reason? Taylor Swift.

Behind the scenes, things have reportedly gone cold between Swift and Lively, and it all ties back to the It Ends With Us legal battle that dragged Swift into the drama. In the $400 million countersuit filed by Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds against Justin Baldoni, Swift was named as a celebrity friend Lively allegedly tried to “leverage” during behind-the-scenes negotiations. That led to a subpoena for Swift’s texts — one her legal team successfully fought off, but not without some fallout.

Now, Swift’s famously tight inner circle appears to have closed ranks. As ShuterScoop put it: “Blake’s officially out.”

And she wasn’t just left off the invite list. While Gomez’s disco-themed party brought fur-trimmed coats, glittering gowns, and Swift herself shining like a human mirrorball, Lively was nowhere to be seen. “Selena wanted love, light, and platform boots, not subpoenas and side-eyes,” a party insider explained.

It’s not just Selena, either. Lively has also reportedly been missing from recent hangouts with Gigi Hadid — another core member of the Swift squad — which, according to Shuter, “fuels speculation that Blake’s girl gang membership has officially expired.”

The timeline checks out. Swift has allegedly stopped responding to Lively’s messages and even reportedly feels “relieved” the friendship is over. Lively, for her part, is focusing on family, leaning on Reynolds and her sister Robyn as the legal case drags on.

Whether this is a cooling-off period or a full breakup remains to be seen. But with Taylor pulling back and Selena standing firm, one thing’s clear: Blake’s not just out of the party. She may be out of the group chat too.
