Jeannie Mai’s Heartfelt Post Is a Love Letter ‘To All My Co-parenting Mamas'
It’s no secret that the apple of Jeannie Mai‘s eye is her daughter Monaco, but during those moments where Monaco is with her dad Jeezy, Mai uses the time to reconnect with herself. And by doing so, she’s made a love letter to fellow moms co-parenting, and it’s a must-read!
Earlier this week, Mai posted a series of photos about her life co-parenting with her ex. She shared the photos to Instagram with the caption reading, “To all my co-parenting mamas out there: You’re proof that love can thrive in any situation. ❤️”
She starts the post with another caption reading, “Every time Coco is with her other home, I take this time for me. This is what co-parenting looks like – a heart split in two places, but still learning how to beat fully.”
Mai shows her time on vacation without Coco, noting that there’s “no guidebook for this part of motherhood.”
While she misses Monaco so much, she notes the “little joys” like taking a trip, a Hugo spritz, and more, also noting how the time alone reminds her, “I’m not just a mom. I’m a woman who dreams, who laughs, who lives.” She then ends the thoughtful post with another reminder to her fellow moms: “To every mama sharing her child, this is your reminder: your happiness is not separate from theirs. When you shine, they feel it, too.”
For those who don’t know, back in January 2022, Mai and her ex-husband Jeezy welcomed their daughter, Monaco, into the world.
During a Nov 2022 interview with PEOPLE, Mai said, “I used to be, well, I still am a boss, I can get it done by myself, but I ain’t that bossy by myself as a mom, I need help.”
She added, “I need my mom giving me advice, I need all the other moms around this area to tell me what you do with a 10-month-old. Every other week there’s some new thing that comes up with her that I got to ask and check about and I call, I listen to my friends and my pediatrician before I listen to the internet or Google. So, I’ve learned that you really need that village.”
