Not everyone is born with that magical touch in the kitchen. My husband has it — he can whip up meals, put his own spin on things, and improvise like it’s an art. I, on the other hand, have to follow recipes to a T — and even then, they don’t always work out. That’s why I’m so excited about Vitamix’s brand-new blender. The Costco-exclusive blender has special smart features that make blending smoothies, sauces, and more a breeze.
Vitamix launched their popular Venturist Pro model at Costco last year, and this year, they’re replacing it with the brand-new AltaPro, also exclusively at Costco. The blender is just under $400 and is made with many intuitive features that you will love.
Some of the highlights of the AltaPro include smart blending, with “smoothie” and “hot soup” settings that ensure consistent results; and tamper guidance, which will give you a visual indicator of when to use the tamper setting on thicker blends. For those who need a little extra help in the kitchen (me!), this is a lifesaver.
It also has a self-cleaning setting, laser-cut stainless-steel blades for breaking down tough foods, and a 64-ounce capacity, so you can make large batches easily. Plus, a 10-year limited warranty gives you peace-of-mind if anything happens to your Vitamix.
And people are already singing its praises online. In the “Vitamix” subreddit, people were discussing some of the features of the new AltaPro, like the fact that it has a “sturdier” lid that “vibrates less” when blending.
“I really like the look of it. Looks sturdy, compact, and efficient,” someone else wrote. Another person noticed that this model “uses classic pitcher and propel style motor base design rather than the Ascent design of Venturist Pro. So it should be compatible with more attachments.” That’s a plus if you already have attachments at home!
If you’ve been looking for a reason to renew your Costco membership, this blender might be the push you need. While there, you can stock up on smoothie ingredients or anything else you might want to use your new Vitamix for.
